Books - Reviews and Recommendations

On this and the next pages we will introduce you to books that in my opinion are valuable assests to work with or learn from. In most cases I have the book myself so I can give you a pretty good idea about the value of the book.

Synopsis

The Adobe Photoshop CS5 Book for Digital Photographers is a new book from Scott Kelby that takes a photographer’s approach to Photoshop CS5.  The new book “includes a special bonus chapter with his own CS5 workflow, from start to finish, and each chapter ends with a Photoshop Killer Tips section, packed with time-saving, job-saving tips that make all the difference.”

Kelby’s book for Photoshop CS was one of the first book that I ever bought for Photoshop, and it really helped me get off the ground with the rather intimidating software.  If you are a photographer struggling with Photoshop CS5 (or any version for that matter), you could do a lot worse than picking up a book penned by Kelby.
Author(s)
Scott Kelby is the editor and publisher of Photoshop User Magazine, Layers magazine (the how-to magazine for everything Adobe®) and President of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). Won the Benjamin Franklin Award for his book “The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers,” was named “The #1 Bestsellling computer/ technology author in the world for the past three years straight.”

Robert's comments: Straight up - this book gives you like "paint by numbers" instructions how to solve many common problems in photoshop without in depth knowledge of Photoshop - fully illustrated with captures of palettes and more.
